Mary joined the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution in July 1992. She became very active when the Sierra Nevada Chapter NSDAR, was forming. Since the chapter began, she has served as the vice regent, the corresponding secretary, and currently is the chaplain.

Mary enjoys spending time learning to be a silversmith and making jewelry. She also enjoys spending time with family and friends, riding bikes, skiing, walking, and working on genealogy. Her greatest love is her family, especially her grandchildren.
