Laura M., Regent – Laura became an NSDAR member in November, 2015. Before assuming the position of regent in September, 2018, she had served as Treasurer and as Vice Regent. Laura is the Chairwoman of the Volunteer Information Specialist and Public Relation Committees. She is also a member of the Membership and Volunteer Genealogist Committees.

Laura was the older of two children born and raised in California, and received her M.A. degree in Cognitive Psychology. Laura left the workforce with the birth of her first child. She and her husband moved to Tennessee in 1992 where her husband started his own business while Laura homeschooled their two children through high school. In 2002, Laura, her husband and younger daughter moved to Reno. Laura’s homeschooling duties ended in 2003 when her daughter graduated from high school.

Laura now spends her time caring for other family members while being actively involved with DAR. She also serves as treasurer on the Board of Directors for her Homeowner’s Association. Her hobbies include biking, reading, and genealogy research.
