Thank you for your interest in our dynamic service organization!

On behalf of the over 100 members of the Sierra Nevada Chapter, National Society Daughters of the American Revolution (NSDAR or DAR), we welcome you to our chapter website. Through our community outreach activities, we strive to promote historic preservation, education, and patriotism. All women ages eighteen or older, with proof of direct, bloodline descent from an ancestor who aided the Americans during the American Revolutionary War, are eligible to join our service organization. We can assist you in finding a Patriot in your family tree, and we would love to have you become a member of our chapter!

Serving Our Community

Serving Our Community

The Daughters of the American Revolution is a service organization whose mission is to promote historic preservation, education, and patriotism. Community Service is at the heart of our chapter’s activities. We have served our community with our members donating their time, money, goods, and other resources to assist various nonprofit organizations.

Nevada's Outstanding DAR Chapter

Nevada's Outstanding DAR Chapter

Organized in June 2014, the Sierra Nevada Chapter, NSDAR, is the second youngest DAR chapter in Northern Nevada, yet it is already the third largest chapter in the state. This membership growth can be attributed to the chapter’s active involvement in the community and the enthusiasm it generates among its members.

Honoring Our Vets and Troops

Honoring Our Vets and Troops

We take great joy in honoring the men and women who currently serve and have served our country. Starting with our patriots, from whom we descend, to today’s troops, we owe a debt of gratitude for their sacrifices which enable us to enjoy our freedoms. Their dedication to serving is deeply appreciated.

Welcome to the Sierra Nevada Chapter, NSDAR! Thank you for stopping by our webpage.  I am the regent for this chapter of incredible women.  We are a dedicated and friendly community of women organized to celebrate our heritage, perpetuate our love of American patriotism, support our veterans, preserve American History, research genealogy, address women’s issues, and help secure America’s future through education.  We love and honor our country, our flag, each other, and the men and women who sacrificed their lives and fortunes to create this country.  Please join us!

Our chapter is inclusive of any female over the age of 18, that can trace their lineage to a Patriot of the American Revolutionary War and has a heart for service to our community.  Will you join us for one of our meetings or a community event?  The chapter calendar is available here.

How lucky we are to be “so proud,” because we researched and learned about our wonderful heritage, and became Daughters of the American Revolution. Because we realized the value of continuing this great pride for our daughters and granddaughters. We possess an opportunity to continue this “special heritage” with pride and love for our future generations. ~L.J.

I joined the DAR because I have proven, to the DAR standards, that I descend from an American Revolutionary War Patriot. I posthumously honor my ancestors by having their names recorded in the DAR Rolls; and by proving my lineage, I am paving the way for future generations to also join. ~J.M.

I’ve been a member of several DAR chapters. The Sierra Nevada Chapter, NSDAR, is the most welcoming and community-involved chapter I’ve been involved with. Members are encouraged with open arms to serve on any of the many committees. Meeting programs are always an interesting learning experience. Come join us in DAR service with the Sierra Nevada Chapter, NSDAR! ~C.S.
